Journey to Egypt–VBS Friday

July 16, 2010 – 8:23 pm

Joseph’s journey from prison to palace is complete.  Tonight in the drama led by Melissa Purdy, we learned that Joseph did forgive his brothers and welcomed his family to live with him in Egypt.  It was a pleasure to welcome the parents and grandparents of our students tonight.  The kids did a great job sharing the lessons from the week and singing all they songs they learned.  Since we reached our goal of $600.00 for Christian Missionary Fellowship’s work in Haiti, our missions leader, Dennis Forsythe became a mummy!!  Check out the pictures!!!

Journey to Egypt–VBS Thursday

July 16, 2010 – 8:37 am

We had another amazing night of VBS with 113 children and 82 adult workers!!  Tonight’s Bible point was God gives us forgiveness.  Drama teacher Melanie Ohnewehr brought the story of Joseph to life.  As we visited his home, Joseph was talking with his friend about how to forgive his brothers for all the wrong things they did to him when he was younger.  Once again the children enjoyed crafts, singing, and recreation.

Only 1 more night!!  Come and join us for our closing program beginning at 6:30 followed by a cookie reception.

Journey to Egypt–VBS Wednesday

July 15, 2010 – 7:01 am

Our journey to Egypt continued with 113 children and 95 adult workers.  Drama teachers Brian and Tiffany Chitwood shared how God gave Joseph wisdom.  Joseph saved grain during the 7 years of plenty so Egypt would have enough to eat during the famine.  Children once again enjoyed singing, crafts, snacks and receation.

Our mission this year is CMF–Christian Missionary Fellowship.  Our mission leader is Dennis Fosythe.  This mission is curently working in Haiti.  The money raised at VBS this year will help with the work this important mission is doing in Haiti.  We had seen pictures and heard reports each night about the work that has been done and work that is planned for the future.

Only 2 nights left!!  Be sure and join us–6:30 to 8:30!

Journey to Egypt–VBS Tuesday night

July 13, 2010 – 8:42 pm

We had another great night at VBS with 116 children and 79 adult helpers.  Drama teacher Daniel Rothwell continued the story of Joseph as the children learned that God gives us special abilities.  Joseph’s special ability was being able to interpret dreams.  By using this special ability, Joseph became an important leader in Egypt.  Once again the children had a great time doing crafts, singing, and having a snack.  Even though the rain forced recreation inside, the excitement of the games prevailed.

Plan to come Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 and continue Joseph’s journey from prison to palace.

July 12, 2010 – 9:28 pm

VBS got off to a great start with 106 children and 89 adult workers!! Our Bible lesson was presented in dramatic form by teacher Connie Scott. The children learned about Joseph’s faith in God and how he had hope, even when his brothers threw him in a cistern, sold him into slavery, and when he was put in jail for a crime he did not commit. The students also enjoyed songs, crafts, recreation, and a snack.

Enjoy the pictures and come and join the fun tomorrow night, 6:30 to 8:30.
